With improved technology, you can grow orchid at any place. This is through the help of greenhouse technology. These houses help to moderate the temperature and moisture condition to that of the natural habitat. There are basically three kinds of greenhouses; temperate house, cool house and hothouse. All these structures are designed for use by different kinds of greenhouse orchids.
The hothouse structure is suitable for phalaepnosis orchid. This is a popular kind of orchid that grows in high temperature zones. The temperature of the hothouse is maintained at around 18 degrees centigrade. During the day, the temperature is allowed to rise up to limits of about 32 degrees centigrade. These high temperatures do not cause any harmful side effects to your orchids.
The cattleva orchids are another kind of greenhouse orchids. This variety prefers moderate greenhouse temperature. The lowest temperature it should be exposed to is 15 degrees centigrade at night and 30 degrees centigrade during the day. Allowing temperatures to go below or above that range will lead to destruction of your flower. A greenhouse will help to maintain these temperatures be it summer or winter.
